Wedding Calligraphy
Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable days of your life. You want everything to be perfect, from the dress to the food, flowers and table settings. One of the details that can make a big impact on your wedding décor is wedding calligraphy.
You can see in an earlier blog how I helped a real bride decide on the style of her on-the-day stationery and show you some examples of beautiful wedding calligraphy and engraving which could be incorporated into your wedding celebration.
Handwritten wedding stationery
Choosing handwritten calligraphy for your wedding invitations is a great way to add a personal touch, make your guests feel special and give a truly unique feel to your special day. From save-the-date cards, invitations and wedding envelopes to thank-you cards, we can provide the full range of personalised wedding stationery.
On-the-day stationery
To complement your beautiful calligraphy wedding invitations, we can continue the handwritten stationery for the big day with handwritten menus for the wedding breakfast, place cards, table numbers, signage and other on-the-day wedding stationery. Even personal notes from the bride and groom to each other, handwritten wedding vows and notes of appreciation to maids of honour, best men and parents.
No matter what style of calligraphy you choose, we can keep the style consistent from the first save the date to the final thank you note, giving your wedding an extra touch of elegance that will be remembered by all who attend.
Personalised place settings
Personalised place settings are a lovely way to reflect your personality and add that exceptional touch to your wedding day. Never underestimate how thrilled people are by seeing their names written beautifully. You’re not limited to card and calligraphy; beautifully hand-engraved place settings are proving to be popular alternatives, incorporating place cards with wedding favours.
We can work together to choose something that matches your style; I offer crisp white place cards as standard but don’t let that put you off if you have a particular colour scheme in mind to match! There are so many ways to achieve this using coloured cardstock, custom ink colours, incorporating metallic inks, attaching tassels in a colour of your choice to placecards, or even custom wax seals with a monogram of your initials. I can engrave glass coasters with names, the glassware itself or engrave miniature spirits bottles. Another lovely idea would be to have engraved mini bottles containing small rolled hand written notes to each guest and sealed with a cork.
Whatever material you choose, your wedding place settings will stand out and can be kept as a keepsake to be remembered by all your guests. How many times have you slipped your beautiful place card into a pocket or bag when you leave the table? Me too, but rarely when it’s printed!
Live wedding calligraphy and engraving
Having a live artist or entertaining at your wedding has long been popular and I was thrilled to have been asked to write on fans for a stunning Bridgerton-inspired wedding reception at Somerly House in Dorset last year. Would you like the wedding favours engraved with your guest’s names in front of them at the evening reception? Give your guests the opportunity to have their personal messages to you written beautifully to be mounted in a book?
With wedding calligraphy, you can make your dream wedding come true! Do get in touch to see how I can help add that special touch to your wedding. Have look at my blog post about a Real Wedding at Goodwood House to see how I work with the bride or planner to pull the ideas together for your on the day stationery.
