How it works

STATIONERY LETTERING PRICES

Place cards: From £1.40 each and includes place cards in 350gsm smooth pristine white tented cardstock provided by Delfont Ink. Your own place cards can be used but there is no discount for this and they must be pre-approved prior to the order being accepted.

Envelope addressing: From £3.50 per envelope (Please note this does not include the cost or supply of envelopes)

Pricing depends on the style and amount of lettering required and inks used (metallic or white inks and dark card stock incur a slightly higher cost, for example).

Please get in touch for accurate pricing for your requirements.

EVENT CALLIGRAPHY PRICES

On-site Event Calligraphy and Engraving prices start from £75 an hour (calligraphy) and £85 (engraving and foiling), with a minimum of four hours per booking. Please do contact me to discuss how I can help add the personalised touch to your event.

styles and samples

  • Please refer to the Wedding Calligraphy page on this website to choose a lettering style.

  • If you wish to use the place cards supplied by Delfont Ink and would like a sample of the cardstock, this will be sent to you free of charge.

Payment and order cancellation

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit of the quoted order total is required to schedule a project. The balance is due immediately upon project completion, before delivery of the finished goods. If the scope of the order changes after the deposit has been paid, then the balance due will be adjusted accordingly. However, in the event that the scope of the project is reduced below the level of the original deposit, no refund will be made.

  • Acceptance of a deposit ensures an agreed-upon project start date, subject to timely receipt of text and materials from the client.

  • If the client cancels an order after the initial deposit has been accept, the deposit is non-refundable. The client is also responsible for paying for any work already completed which exceeds the deposit amount.

  • Delfont Ink has a minimum order fee of £80. Work added to an order after completion will be considered a new job and is again subject to the minimum order.

Paper and materials

  • A 20% client-provided materials allowance is required for calligraphy orders. For example, for 100 finished envelopes, at least 120 blank envelopes must be provided. The same applies to unorthodox surfaces (e.g. leaves, tiles, glassware)

  • Delfont Ink is happy to supply white place cards in a 300gsm smooth cardstock to expedite swift service as these are usually kept in stock. A discount will not be given on the place card pricing if you choose to use your own blank place cards. I do not supply other paper unless special sourcing coordination is negotiated. I am, however, happy to advise about suitable paper types at no extra charge.

  • All paper must be shipped at the client’s expense, using a trackable shipper, prior to the start date of the order.

  • Paper type and colour must be established before an order is accepted. Papers with porous, metallic, glossy or highly textured surfaces can be problematic for calligraphy which is why pre-approval is required. Changes in paper type or colour after a price is quoted may result in a change to the project cost.

  • Use of metallic ink, more than one colour ink in a single design, or complex flourishing may incur an additional fee.

SUBMISSION OF TEXT AND ADDRESS LISTS

  • Guest names and addresses must be submitted exactly as they should be produced in calligraphy. This includes formal titles, capitalization, abbreviations, and punctuation.

  • Guest and address lists must be typed and numbered, and submitted in Word or another editable format.

  • When submitting a Word document, write addresses in a stacked format with line breaks, just as they should be on the envelopes. When submitting a spreadsheet, each line of the address must be in its own column. Spreadsheets with extra columns of information that aren’t relevant to the job will not be accepted.

  • Proofread and finalize all text and guest lists before submitting them. Any changes or addition should be emailed immediately as a separate document. If re-dos are required based on the new document, they will be charged as additional items.

  • Any re-dos required because of typographical errors on the part of Delfont Ink, will be done immediately at no charge and shipped at Delfont Ink’s expense.

scheduling, rush orders, & shipping

  • Projects are scheduled to begin on specific dates. The deposit books your project’s start date, and all text and paper must be received before that date.

  • Allow at least 15 working days for envelope, place card, and escort card orders up to 150 pieces. Turnaround time for larger orders will be estimated on a case by case basis. Please contact me for a more accurate timeline which does vary through the year.

  • Clients are responsible for all shipping fees. Completed orders will be shipped using a trackable service, and the shipping total will be added to the total invoice.

  • Rush orders incur an additional 40% charge. Expedited shipping rates may also apply.

  • Jobs done on-site are subject to additional charges.
